Holiday Sangria

  • 2 bottles red wine, I used Cabernet Sauvignon

  • 2 oranges, sliced

  • 2 apples, sliced

  • 1 cup apple juice

  • 1 lemon, sliced

  • ! lime, sliced

  • 3 star anise

  • 3 cinnamon sticks

  • 1 cup Amaretto

  • 1/2 cup Triple Sec

  • pomegranate seeds

  • blackberries

  • 1 tbsp cinnamon

  • 2 tbsp sugar

Bring wine, apple cider, 1/2 lemon, 1/2 lime, 1 apple, 1 orange, cinnamon sticks, and star anise in saucepan

Bring to a simmer, simmer for 10 minutes

Strain wine into pitcher

Add amaretto, Triple Sec and remaining fruit

Add simmered cinnamon sticks and star anise back into pitcher.

Chill 1 hour

Rim glasses with cinnamon and sugar mixture

Serve over ice with orange wedges and star anise
