Vanilla Chai Sangria

  • 2 oranges, sliced

  • 4 cinnamon sticks, divided

  • 2 bottles chardonnay of your choice

  • 1 cup brandy

  • 2 star anise

  • 2 tbsp vanilla extract

  • 4 whole cloves

  • 4 whole all spice

  • 1 1/2 cup water

  • 1 1/2 cup sugar

  • 3 black chai tea bags

  • ginger beer

Make simple syrup and let cool.

To make syrup, fill medium saucepan with water, sugar, all spice, 4 cinnamon sticks, cloves, and tea bags.

Bring to a boil. Let cool.

While that is cooling fill pitcher with oranges, wine, brandy, remaining cinnamon sticks and star anise, and vanilla extract.

Once simple syrup has cooled down, Strain and pour liquid into the pitcher.

Refrigerate overnight.

When ready to drink, fill cup with ice. Fill up 3/4 of the way full with sangria, fill to the top with ginger beer.

Stir.
